"The scripts produced were high quality – achieving their targets, but also standing independently as a sound piece of theatre - appropriately risky and entertaining... The feed-back speaks for itself – overwhelmingly positive"
Jane Leggett Coordinator Islington Pathway
"Crooked Sleeve were a very professional company to work with. They consulted with us at all stages of script development and they followed the specification we gave them in terms of content, time-scales and character stories, whilst always adding their own creative touches"
Heidi Rositter
Workforce Development Consultant for Islington Adult Social Services and Children's Services
JUMP OFF THE PAGE!
This innovative workshop has been created using adult training formats designed to maximise student engagement and learning and will be centred on the English syllabus.
The workshops do not require lengthy get-ins or technical set ups but are instead flexible to your space and requirements.
The workshop performs selected scenes from the text you have chosen, and uses those scenes as a basis for analysis and exploration of the characters, writers’ motives, themes of the work, and how some of the themes are applicable to the students’ world.
Crooked Sleeve’s aim is to give your students the ability and tools to make the words ‘Jump off the Page’. This is learning.
The aim of the training is to:
• Support the students’ GSCE preparation.
• Enable the students to gain a better understanding and appreciation of the text.
• Empower the students with study skills, techniques and tools.
• Enable the students to understand what drives the character, writer and story.
• Provide the students with the ability to determine fact from opinion.
Teachers will all receive study packs with extension exercises including schemes of work.
The workshops will be linked to the curriculum and will promote diversity and inclusivity through the use of multiple learning styles and is adaptable to student ability.
